One of the most commonly used sizes in industrial applications would be Caltron’s 15 inch industrial surface acoustic wave (SAW) touch screen LED open frame monitor in a 4:3 aspect ratio. To accommodate the various application types, Caltron provides two types of touch interfaces and to distinguish the touch interface types for each monitor are specific model names. To signify a 15” SAW touch screen monitor with a serial touch interface, the unit is labeled as LBT-1503OTEAS and to identify the same touch monitor with a USB touch interface, it is labeled as LBT-1503OTEASU.
What makes Caltron’s 15” SAW touch screen monitor so special? A unique distinction that the LBT-1503OTEAS has compared to other open frame touch screens is that Caltron makes it a point to ensure that the chassis will remain unchanged throughout the lifetime of the monitor, even when there are LCD panel revisions, which happens quite often. This helps to alleviate any concerns that designers and integrators might have when designing a unit into an enclosure. Is the LLBT-1503OTEAS equipped to handle harsh environments? Caltron uses all industrial grade components, including the touch glass. The unit is designed to handle extreme temperatures and to endure a lot of stress from most work environments.
As with all of Caltron’s other LED backlit monitors, this unit has a brighter display than the typical CCFL backlit monitor and can be used in a wide variety of applications that might be located indoors or outdoors. For the most part, the touch screen can be used in a regular application that wants a brighter and more crisp image.
